The first sculpture in the Zof series is titled Zof 1. It was created by first sculpting the form in 3D using an animation platform, then flattening it and defining it with a wireframe design. In order to emboss and cut out sheets of acrylic that are sandwiched together and placed into a hexagon foundation, the initial image is transmitted to a laser cutter. The sculpture's back is black, and the front has a flat shape with rounded corners and a crosshatched pattern in the center. The original 3D image reappears after attaching the programmable LEDs to the form's edges.
